Santa Catarina is a small indigenous village with many shops filled with art, weaving’s, and fabrics lining the streets. Just a short walk from the main street as well as from the Church is the playa where you can walk along the beach to the hot springs. The hot springs are a great way to relax after a hike in the mountains and around town.

About Santa Catarina Palopó

This charming peaceful and serene indigenous village is located on the eastern shores of Lake Atitlan and is known for its hand-woven tapestries and paintings. The main street is full of little shops and artisans all the way down to the lake shore. Santa Catarina Palopó retains its indigenous charm and is relatively untouched by modern commercialization. Visitors are often struck by the atmosphere of timelessness.
