About Lake Atitlan Coffee Tours
Lake Atitlan Coffee Tours, join us in Lake Atitlan Guatemala for a coffee tour from tree to cup.
The basin surrounding Lake Atitlan, located in the highlands of Guatemala, produces some of the most distinctive and aromatic coffee in the world.
Lake Atitlan provides an ideal environment for growing coffee—the region has a cooler climate than most other parts of Guatemala, there is plentiful and consistent rainfall each year, and the area is surrounded by the rich soils of the Atitlán, Toliman, and the San Pedro volcanoes.
If you love Guatemala coffee as much as we do then no trip to Guatemala would be complete without the experience of a coffee tour.
Located along the fertile slopes of Lake Atitlan, local coffee cooperatives have been growing and roasting organic coffee for generations. Lake Atitlan Coffee Tours takes our guests into the homes of the growers.
Our coffee experience will take you to the villages of San Juan La Laguna and San Pedro La Laguna in the heart of Lake Atitlan where we introduce you to the coffee production process, from growing, harvesting, cleaning, and drying the berries, roasting, and finally to when it’s poured fresh into a cup.
Our tour will conclude on the patio of a coffee cooperative where we will enjoy the breathtaking views of the surrounding volcanoes and the lush coffee plantations while enjoying a fresh cup of coffee.
About The Village Of San Pedro Lake Atitlan
The village of San Pedro La Laguna on Lake Atitlan is one of my favorite villages on the Lake. San Pedro in its earlier years was the home for many hippie travelers—that was 20 years ago. Today, San Pedro still remains a destination for the younger travelers and backpackers that visit Lake Atitlan.
San Pedro is located at the foot of San Pedro Volcano which provides a beautiful back drop for the village. For the adventurous San Pedro Volcano provides a wonderful opportunity to hike and see one of the most spectacular sunrises that the lake has to offer. For more information on Volcano tours visit Grow Your Own Cure Tours.
About The Village of San Juan Lake Atitlan
Beside San Juan La Laguna is the famous mountain formation called Indian Nose for its resemblance to a Mayan Indian. From the summit of Indian Nose you can view some of the most spectacular sunrises around the lake.
The hike to the summit of Indian Nose takes a few hours and the views offer travelers a different view of Lake Atitlan few ever see. For more information on tours to Indian Nose visit http://growyourowncure.org/lake-atitlan-indian-nose-tour-san-juan-village/.
