Lake Atitlan Map Panajachel (Spanish pronunciation: [panaxaˈtʃel], Pana) is a town in the southwestern Guatemalan Highlands, less than 90 miles from Guatemala City, in the department of Sololá.

San Lucas Tolimán is a municipality in the Sololá department of Guatemala. The town of 17,000 people sits on the southeastern shore of Lago de Atitlán, described by Aldous Huxley as one of the most beautiful lakes in the world. The population is 90–95% Highland Maya. There is a population of about the same size living in the surrounding villages.

San Lucas is a village along the shores of Lake Atitlan I enjoy visiting. You will nit find many Tourists which is one reason, the protected beach is a meeting place for locals on the weekend to enjoy a swim in the lake and Ceviche from local vendors lining the shoreline.

San Antonio Palopó is a municipality in the Sololá department of Guatemala. The village is on the eastern shore of Lake Atitlán. The lowest elevation is 1,562 metres (5,125 ft) at the shoreline. The people of the region are Cakchiquel Maya with a distinctive style of clothing. The patron saint of the village is St. Anthony of Padua. The annual festival takes place on 13 June.

San Antonio Palopo is at the end of the main road from Panajachel, the road continues however the steep angle is almost impossible for the best 4 wheel drive vehicles. The village has a lovely beach shoreline to walk and is most famous for the handmade Ceramics of the village.

The people of Santa Catarina Palopó. The population of Santa Catarina Palopó is approximately 5,000 according to a 2011 census conducted by the town administration. The vast majority of the residents of the town are indigenous, descending from the Kaqchikel Maya. Kaqchikel is the most common language spoken in the village.

Perhaps the most easily recognizable characteristic of Santa Catarina Palopó is the blue huipil, or blouse, which is worn prominently by the women of the community. Since the guipil has been worn since the 16th century, it may seem to be particularly indigenous trait, the blue style is, however, the result of very recent external influences.
