San Juan La Laguna Artists Yenifer Margarita Vásquez Mendoza is the daughter of the well-known San Juan La Laguna, Lake Atitlan painters Antonio Vásquez Yojcóm and Juana Mendoza Cholotio, Yenifer Margarita Vásquez Mendoza gets her painting skills naturally.
Lake Atitlan Artist is from the Village of San Juan La Laguna, her name is Yenifer Margarita Vásquez Mendoza has an ability to view nature and daily Tz’utujil life as a mosaic of colors that from her eyes transcend through her paintings and come alive on canvas in a kaleidoscope of luminous tones in the historical and pictorial joining of cultural traditions and values.

Her art is about balancing the past and the present and has a distinct aesthetic and personality to match.
Yenifer is the second oldest of four children, born and raised in the quaint and artistic village of San Juan located at the base of San Pedro Volcano on the shores of Lake Atitlan.
Traditions, history, and family life are recurring themes in her oil paintings which can be found in the family’s painting studio and art gallery located a short walk from the boat docks in San Juan.
With two children of her own it won’t be long before the next generation of young talented painters will join the family business.
