Tourism Returns to Guatemala September 18, 2020 Tourism represents 7.9% of the GDP for Guatemala. Tourists from around the world will now be able to enjoy the country of Guatemala after the borders closed for six months due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Information a tourist or any traveler needs to know to enter Guatemala.
- You need to have a COVID 19 Test 72 hours prior to entering Guatemala. Please bring a copy of the results.
- In the Guatemala International Airport, you will pass by temperature sensing devices. Sanitation stations are throughout the Airport. If you plan to have a service or friends meet you at the airport, only the person or service meeting you allowed.
- Masks are mandatory to be on at all times through the country of Guatemala and Social Distancing is required. If you have political statements or issues about either, this is the law in Guatemala.
- Shuttle services, group, and private require guests to follow guidelines service providers will provide the information for your comfort.
- Restaurants, Bars, Hotels, Spas, and Hostels require by law to follow COVID-19 guidelines set forth by the Guatemala Government for your safety and the safety of others around you. Masks and social distancing and sanitation stations.
