Abbasi Mediterranean Restaurant Lake Atitlan
Abbasi Mediterranean Restaurant Panajachel Lake Atitlan, friends of ours have been raving about Abbasi Mediterranean Restaurant, a relatively new Mediterranean restaurant located on Calle de los Arboles in Panajachel, Lake Atitlan so last night we decided to try it and we are so glad that we did.
Abbasi Mediterranean Restaurant
This is a very casual, clean and simple place, with a warm and very “homey” atmosphere. As simple as it is the food is authentic, delicious, and flavorful and a wonderful change from the tipico food found throughout Panajachel. Their menu offers the best cuisine from the Mediterranean region featuring lamb kifta and shish kabobs, falafel sandwiches, and shrimp with coconut. They also serve wine and beer.

As an appetizer the baba ganoush was outstanding. We love hummus, and the hummus with tahini was excellent. As main courses, the (herb infused marinated chicken with hummus, grilled tomato, onion, zucchini, parsley, lettuce with tahini and hot Lebanese sauce) was outstanding and plentiful, the aloo gobi (cauliflower, potatoes, peas, rice dish complete with pita bread) was melt in your mouth excellent, and the palak paneer (cottage cheese cubes cooked in a spinach curry with pita bread) was unique and incredibly tasty. And did I mention the mint lemonade, it was incredible and the perfect balance between tart and sweet. I literally could not get enough of it. Next time, I will be orderingchicken shawarma sandwich a second one.
One of the other patrons had the lamb shish kabob and told us that it was incredible and cooked to perfection. His dining companion ordered the tuna with tahini and she too was very pleased with her meal.
