Panajachel Guatemala Restaurante Hana
Panajachel Guatemala Restaurante Hana, having lived in the Lake Atitlan, Guatemala area for the last four years, we have eaten our way down most of the calles, avenidas, and callejons and what we have found is that Panjachel can be a foodie heaven if you are willing to venture off the beaten path.
From hidden gems to hole-in-the-walls to Guatemalan cuisine Pana has it all and we have truly savored every bite.
Pana offers a hidden gem located in the courtyard of Casa Katchiquel, it is a wonderful Japanese restaurant called Restaurante Hana. It has become our go-to restaurant anytime we feel the need for a little something different than the local Guatemalan tipico food.
Panajachel Guatemala Restaurante Hana
Casa Katchiquel was one of the first hotels built on Lake Atitlan and the stunning building is home to a cultural center and Restaurante Hana. The restaurant’s outdoor seating area is set around serene gardens teaming with vegetation, beautiful hanging plants, relaxing atmosphere, and surrounded with a gallery of old photographs and postcards of Pana and the surrounding area from years ago.
Panajachel Guatemala Restaurante Hana offers a very large menu with many varieties of appetizers, sushi, sashimi, as well as main courses, and noodle soups. All the food is very, very fresh, well seasoned, and consistently delicious.
I’m still working my way though the menu, however, so far I think my favorite dish is the teriyaki salmon. It always leaves me wanting to lick the plate. Every taste is truly amazing. You won’t want to miss the two-for-one sushi special. I highly recommend eating at Restaurante Hana if you like Japanese food.
Panajachel Restaurante Hana is open for lunch and dinner Tuesday through Sundays. It is located on Calle 14 Febrero inside Casa Cakchiquel a few feet from Calle Santander. They offer free wifi.
