We had searched the internet and talked with one Doctor in Panajachel and she indicated that no cases of the Zika Virus in Guatemala were known to her in the Highlands of Guatemala or Lake Atitlan.
Health Ministry epidemiologist Judith Garcia told the newspaper Prensa Libre Saturday that at least Zika Virus 105 Cases Reported Guatemala people there had been infected with Zika, the virus suspected of causing grave brain damage in newborns.
No mention of the regions of Guatemala were the cases have reported from.
Travel warning have been issued by various agencies and world organizations about the concerns of the Zika Virus. Guatemala’s Tourism Industry could be effected if cooler heads do not prevail.
