Nicaragua Tourist Destination Ravaged By False Media Reports and Social Media flaunting. We have many friends in Nicaragua and since the beginning of the Political unrest in the Country, the world media has added Nicaragua into the category of Fake News for Viewership as the priority not, accuracy.
Nicaragua Tourist Destination. Nicaragua is was the fastest growing Tourist destination in Central American until the time of the unrest. The World Media by such poor reporting has devastated the Tourism Industry. Tourism has a enormous positive impact on the economy of Nicaragua.
This CNN report ranks 8. Nicaragua: up 28.4%. (1.5 million visitors in 2016).
A friend wrote this on her Facebook while visiting Nicaragua. Her words explain even as a Guest in the Country, her words are compelling, a feeling of sadness and helplessness. See below.
Which inspired me to write this post and look around Facebook and other Social Media site to see what the chatter was. As always in times of unrest, those decide to use Social Media as the way to take advantage of the situation? Why I sometimes wonder about the world we live in today.
I have added on this blog post some of my own photos from my last visit to Nicaragua. This is the country I spent two weeks in from one end to the other.
Nicaragua Tourist Destination Ravaged By False Media Reports.
What can I do as an American living in the US to help Nicaragua? It seems there isn’t much (accurate) news being circulated in the US… Normally when something so awful is happening in another county, Americans are going crazy and spreading “support” all over social media. …Seems like hardly anyone even knows this is happening in Nica. …I’m here now, near León,
(leaving Sunday ?), but I want to help somehow! I hear many people say that other countries (especially the US) should stay out of this situation (I understand that), but ahhhhh, it kills me! The world should know.
Tourists should (cautiously) still come to the peaceful areas and spend their $$, wealthy expats should do whatever they can to help the locals …I don’t know!? All I know is my heart implodes every time I look at the news here …and especially when I see hotels and restaurants that, only a few weeks ago, had 15 employees and are now down to 2. Not to mention all of the deaths and injuries ?
…I’ll gladly blast this shit all over social media in the US. …I know it’s not my fight to fight and don’t want to stir up any drama, but seriously, what can be done to help from afar.
